Today I’m grateful for Mondays.

A little strange as I will be the first person to tell you how much I dread Mondays. I work the Monday-Thursday (10 hour days) work schedule and Monday is always the worst day of the bunch. It means the week is just beginning…

But today, in the face of a gray Monday, I express my gratitude.

Mondays are the “restart” of a week. When there is so much to do at work or at home during the week, Monday is a fresh start so that energy can be expended to complete any set tasks.

Monday is the day after Sunday. So if over the weekend I eat or drink anything, I can push “restart” and let go of the guilt over the weekend.

Monday is the day after a weekend where new plans can be made. If something that was full of anticipation happened over the weekend and it’s now over, one can start planning for the next anticipated event.

There is mail on Mondays. I love getting mail. My bills mostly come via email so if mail comes- it’s usually an exciting coupon or letter.

Monday is the only day of the week that begins with “M”. “M” is one of my favorite letters.

Monday is also the day of the week where most of my groceries are still fresh. Since I usually do grocery shopping over the weekend, I have a lot of food in supply on Monday.

Monday is often full of meetings. I usually love meetings so it makes for a better day.

So, instead of focusing on how tired I am (and I AM), I just want to say- “Thank you Monday. Thank you for always providing a new start.”
