For now….one of my Facebook friends hosted an “event” where people posted haikus for 2014. I got way to into it and wrote quite a few.

Here’s some examples:

Say goodbye to past.
Hellos to hope, growth, time passed.
Don’t forget to pause.

Pug snores and new grays.
Kitty purrs, cuddles, and love.
Safety in still time.

grandma’s soft hands, voice.
new friends, adventure, flights.
grins, tears, one and same.

“Shhh” she says. Stop. Still.
Hold my hand. Tell me you’ve left.
“Goodbye”. Love always.

Hippos, crocs, lions.
One eats other. One runs on.
We sit and watch. Awe.

Pregnant cheetah. Tree.
Where she wanders? Just she knows.
May she go safely.

The sounds. The sights. Smells.
Never forget. Never flee.
Memories. Always mine.

Rub sleep from your eyes.
New day. New year. Yours to live.
Conquer. But coffee first.
