Dear little one,
We have still yet to name you. Your father’s list is at 40 names, I’ve dwindled down to 10. As you will one day find out, we take these types of decisions very seriously. It takes a lot of conversation, a lot of lists, and a lot of thinking.
Your room is starting to take shape. Neither of us know what to expect but know you won’t care too much what your surroundings are during the first couple of years of life. Material things aside, we know we will surround you with love, learning, and mutual discovery.
You kick the inside of my belly whenever I eat, and sometimes when I drink cold liquid. Your favorites seem to be water and sometimes sugar. Your father reminds me that too much sugar may not be good for either of us, but being pregnant with you has made me have a renewed sweet tooth. I’ll be good for both of us.
Everyone anticipates your arrival! My belly has been showing for several weeks so no hiding now! Not that I’ve ever wanted to hide you, but sometimes keeping the knowledge of you all to ourselves is comforting.
I have a hard time walking for long distances or getting up and down. But you’ve made this pregnancy very easy for me. I’ve heard women describe their pregnancies- both the good and the bad- and I’m happy to say everything is well with you and me.
Riley Pug and Milo the Cat still don’t have any idea of what to expect. Milo knows he can’t jump up on my belly anymore and Riley Pug knows I sit down a bit more often and my guess is deep down, he can now feel both our heartbeats. I hope you are all the best of friends. Riley and Milo have been our companions for a very long time. And now you join us!
The books say you are the size of a pineapple. I can believe it as my belly expands and I go to the bathroom a bit more often than ever before. But most of all, I am full of expectation of knowing and loving you forever and always.
Rest well little one, we have some time before you arrive. The world awaits you!
Love, Mom
Your grandma looks forward to your arrival, little guy! I already love you, and will for the rest of my life, and I promise to help your mom and dad take care of you. Lots of anticipation and preparation is being made for you, and you will truly be welcomed.
