From my Facebook- just want to document here too:

Documenting to remember my gratitude and thoughts on today, 4/5/20:

Thank you to those in the healthcare industry- from doctors, nurses, medical assistants, dentists, pharmacists, all the way to the administrative and profession staff that keep things moving. You’ve been in my thoughts and heart.

Thank you to those who work in public health, or other housing and human services fields, who are working to protect the rest of us, and our most vulnerable populations.

Thank you to those in food or grocery industries- in whatever type of position. Thank you for continuing to work to maintain some normalcy for the rest of us.

Thank you to anyone still asked in work in workplaces because of the essential nature of your work. It can’t be easy.

Thank you to those making masks, or other PPE to provide protection.

Thank you to those who are working at home and trying to figure out where home life stops and work begins. I’m with you, we’ve got this.

Thank you to all those who are choosing to worship remotely or in different ways. As a pastor’s kid, I know this is a major, major adjustment. Thank you. I love you all.

Thank you to those who deliver mail, packages, or whatever. You are out there for all of us. Thank you.

Thank you to those who aren’t able to work at all- and feel helpless. You are helping by staying home and healthy.

I’m thinking of all those whose lives are in transition- jobs, moves, relationships, health- and where this all made it so much harder and uncertain. We will be okay.

I’m thinking and my heart is breaking for those losing jobs because of this current uncertainty.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers, are with anyone who contracts or knows someone with this virus.

My heart is with anyone feeling lonely, scared, confused. I am here for you. You are never alone.

My gratitude goes to leaders who are working tirelessly to figure out what steps to take now- and who take responsibility for protecting those they represent.

I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to forget all the feelings I’m feeling now, but just in case- I’ve documented it forever.

Thank you, love to you, be well.

*** In my original post I also had the following:

I have anger too, anger toward leaders who made this situation much worse, anger toward people ignoring the warnings and guidelines, and anger toward those that still feel our current President is the best choice this upcoming election to protect us from future dangers. I will never understand or respect that way of thinking. We need leaders who genuinely care about their constituents and look out for the masses more than just themselves. As much as I’d like to let that anger go- I can’t. So I’m focusing on gratitude.

I decided to take it off because by putting it in there, I was just being passive aggressive instead of focusing on gratitude. But, I add it here because it’s a bit “safer”. But damn, I have a great deal of anger. And disbelief that my vision of the good in the world is proving to be very, very distorted.
